Savaas Unit 3 Week 4

Whole Group Reading Text: “The Picnic”, “The Cow and the Tiger”

Daily discussion: Describe setting, characters, and text features, & identify if the story is told in 1^st person (narrator is a character in the text) or 3^rd person (narrator is not a character in the story and does not use words like I and me).

High Frequency Words: now, down, there, drink, together

Decode words with vowel sounds of ‘y’: my, try, fly, why, cry, by, puppy, silly

ELA vocab: nouns (possessive and plural), verbs, adjectives and articles (a, an, the), prepositions, conjunctions (and, or, but) contractions, adverbs, pronoun

Math:

Ok Reveal Math Unit 5  (lessons 5.6,5.7,5.8,5.9 and unit 5 practice)

Vocabulary Review: addition, subtraction, plus, minus, equals, number chart, number line, ten frame, comparing two numbers using “greater than, less than, and equals”, addends, addition equation, unknown, doubles, place value (ones place, tens place), sum, difference

Daily practice: counting by 1s, 2s, 5s,10s; coins and their values, telling time, shapes (2D, 3D)
