Savaas Unit 5 Week 2
Whole Group Reading Text: “The Sailor”, “Seasons Around the World” and texts about Bees
Daily discussion: Describe setting, characters, and text features, & identify if the story is told in 1st person (narrator is a character in the text) or 3rd person (narrator is not a character in the story and does not use words like I and me).
High Frequency Words: done, once, upon, wash, water
Spelling and decoding words with ‘igh’: high, sight, might, fright, light, night, flight, bright
ELA vocab: nouns (possessive and plural), pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, articles (a, an, the), prepositions, conjunctions (and, or, but) contractions
Math:
Ok Reveal Math Volume 2 Unit 9 (addition within 100)
Vocabulary Review: addition, subtraction, plus, minus, equals, number chart, number line, ten frame, comparing two numbers using “greater than, less than, and equals”, addends, addition equation, unknown, doubles, place value (ones place, tens place), sum, difference
Daily practice: counting by 1s, 2s, 5s,10s; coins and their values, telling time, shapes (2D, 3D)
