Savaas Unit 5 Week 4
Whole Group Reading Text: “Signs of Change”, and other texts about seasons and books about planets and our solar system
Daily discussion: Describe setting, characters, and text features, & identify if the story is told in 1st person (narrator is a character in the text) or 3rd person (narrator is not a character in the story and does not use words like I and me).
High Frequency Words: move, only, learn, eight, house
Spelling and decoding words with ‘ild, ‘old, ‘ind, ‘ost long ‘o’ and long ‘i’
ELA vocab: nouns (possessive and plural), pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, articles (a, an, the), prepositions, conjunctions (and, or, but) contractions
Math:
Ok Reveal Math Volume 2 Unit 12 (Compare and order lengths), telling time, organizing data, Math review
Vocabulary Review: addition, subtraction, plus, minus, equals, number chart, number line, ten frame, comparing two numbers using “greater than, less than, and equals”, addends, addition equation, unknown, doubles, place value (ones place, tens place), sum, difference
Daily practice: counting by 1s, 2s, 5s,10s; coins and their values, telling time, shapes (2D, 3D)
